Stefania Sandrelli comes from Viareggio, Tuscany and on 5th of June this year, she will turn 66. Her home country recognizes her for her fantastic work on TV, mainly for her funny roles. Her almost 5 decades in front of the audience saw her make over 120 appearances. Her first role was in The Fascist ('61) that went on to Divorced, Italian Style ('61), Seduced and Abandoned ('64), Partner ('68), The Conformist ('70), Somewhere Beyond Love ('74), Traffic Jam ('79), Of Love And Shadows ('94), Stealing Beauty ('96), Gente Di Roma ('03), La Prima Cosa Bella ('10), La Passione ('10) and La Donna Della Mia Vita ('10) amongst a much longer list.
She tried her luck in directing and in '09; she wrote Christine Christina and directed it as well. Popular magazine in Italy had her on their front pages from the first time she stepped in front of the audience till the mid nineties. Playboy thought of this Italian beauty enough to feature her inside their US edition during sixties and Celebrity Sleuth had her 3 times during the nineties. Her work and the career was never unnoticed and during the long time she spent in the entertainment world, she was nominated 19 times out of which she won six, by different countries and different industries.
Her last nomination came from Faliano International Prizes in '07 and her last award where she won an Honorary Ribbon was in '06, given to her by Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists. Away from the public eye, Stefania Sandrelli was in a marriage union to Nicky Pende with whom she has one offspring and lives in a defacto relationship with Giovanni Soldati since the early eighties. At some stage she was also linked to Gino Paoli with whom she also produced a baby girls Amanda Sandrelli, who followed in the mother's footsteps. Apart from being a mother, she also accomplished herself as a grandma to 3 grandkids.
