As the name suggests, it is a calendar that is produced by Pirelli. It is released once a year for the past 4 and a half decades. The exclusivity of this edition is further protected as it cannot be purchased, and it is only intended to surprise the receiver who may get it as a present or if they are famous. Full of female photos, it is tastefully done even if some of the ladies appearing inside may be partially or fully nude.
Every year a collection of new hotties is picked who may either be models, actresses or sports girls, as long as they are good looking and popular. Given that there's only so many copies made, it is an honor for every lady to take part it in and be featured on someone's wall. 10 years into the production, the release came to a halt. Economic crisis saw it disappear for almost a decade, only to return in early eighties.
The production never stopped since and continued on an annual basis. Every year, a different fashion legend and a photographer get to dress or work with the models and actresses to make them appear as desirable as possible. The latest edition for next year sees Karl Lagerfeld featured and working with Julianne Moore and Isabeli Fontana as some of the girls and it was shot in Paris, France.
This year's edition sees Terry Richardson working with Catherine McNeil, Anna Beatriz Barros, Miranda Kerr, Daisy Lowe and Lily Cole as some on a location in Brazil. Pirelli Calendar has its own official website however it is for registered users only and those registered users have to be recognized and approved by Pirelli Calendar themselves and no images can be copied to one's computer nor can they be officially found anywhere else on the web.
