Her 5 feet and 7 inches tall figure, got her into the modeling world in her native country. It is while on an assignment that she was introduced to Jean-Jacques Beineix - a film producer. He offered her a main part in "37.2 Le Matin" (Betty Blue) back in '86. This kick-started her career and she made at least one movie a year (French-based). Her performance in "Betty Blue" saw her being nominated for Cesar Award as the Best Actress. 22 years later, in '09, she finally won an award for her performance in A L'interieur as the Best Supporting Actress by Chainsaw Awards.
Her personal life was/is as colourful as the roles that she played. She offered her free time to help out in prison in France, where she met her 2nd husband (and got married to him at the premises in '05). Her 1st hubby's last name made her popular so she kept it for stage purposes (her maiden name is Cabarrou). In the time between her marriages, she got close to Joey Starr (Hip hop artist from France) and hang out with him for a decade.
Her first ever movie that she did for US audience was made in '97, "The Blackout", but it was following the release of this movie that she got in trouble with police. Few of her visits on US soil saw her get in trouble with drugs and police and they banned her from immigrating there, meaning that she lost some roles including a supporting role in "6th Sense" with Bruce Willis. Her 2nd marriage is still current to a man who was doing the time for rape and she has no kids.
