Barbara Carrera was originally named Barbara Kingsbury and is known as an actress and ex-model. She was born in Nicaragua in the city of San Carlos on December 31, 1945 and grew up on the compound of the American Embassy in Nicaragua, due to her father being employed there. At age 10, she moved to the United States and at 15, to New York to pursue a career in modeling. At 17 she started modeling at the Eileen Ford Agency and appeared in numerous Chiquita Banana .
She was first nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 1976, for her performance in "The Master Gunfighter". After that came roles in films such as "Embryo" (1976), "The Island of Dr. Moreau" (1977), "Centennial" (1978), "When Time Ran Out" (1980), starring Paul Newman, the TV miniseries "Masada" (1980), "Condorman" (1981) and some others. In the 1984 James Bond movie with Sean Connery "Never Say Never Again", portrayed the seductive female villain Fatima Blush. In the movie she is ultimately killed by Bond's explosive pen. She was part of the popular TV series "Dallas" 1985-1986, portraying the role of Angelica Nero. More recently she could be seen in the TV series "JAG" (1998, 1 episode), "That 70's Show" (2000, 1 episode) and "Judging Amy" (2004, 2 episodes) as well as in the 2001 movie "Panic".
Continuing her career she has made many appearances on the covers of prestigious magazines. Those magazines include Harper's Bazaar and Vogue and she has also graced the pages of Playboy two times. Carrera has been married four times to Cameron Docherty, a photographer, Nicholas Mavroleon, a Greek shipowner, Uva Harden, a model, and Baron Otto von Hoffman. She also divorced all of them and has no children.
